Common Indian Languages

India is a secular nation which consist of all form of art and cultures with some common Indian languages but India's official language is Hindi written in the Devanagri script. It is supposed to be the primary tongue of around 30%of the people. While English language enjoys its associate status as it is widely spoken and is one of the most important languages for national, political, and commercial communication. Other official languages of India includes Urdu, as well as Bangla or Bengali which are the official language of Bangladesh. Linguists of India treat Hindi and Urdu as the same language but the only difference is b that Hindi is written in Devanagari script and it draws its vocabulary from Sanskrit, while Urdu is written in Arabic script and again it has hint of Persian and Arabic.

There are states which are free to decide upon their own regional languages for their internal administration and education, so that there are 18 official languages spoken throughout the country. Some of the common Indian languages are Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi, Kashmiri and, these are among the official languages which are also widely spoken. Though Sanskrit being considered an official language is generally not been not utilized for conversation, spoken Sanskrit classes and youth camps are becoming more widespread. This language is particularly used in Hindu rituals and ceremonies as part of daily prayers by all Hindus worldwide.

In totality, there are about 24 different languages which are spoken by several millions of persons; as well as millions of other languages and dialects. All the Indian languages would have their own distinct identity. With the exception of Urdu, the alphabets that are used in it are all of Indo-European origin, hence these are derived from the Aramaic alphabet. We conclude here on the relation of the alphabet to that of a Greek alphabet.

In modern times Urdu writing has been perceived to be very complex because the language derives its sources from Persian and Arabic languages as well as from the Hindustani language which is a dialect of the Gangetic plains, that was formalized in modern Hindi. It is supposed that Urdu is the closest language to tadjik, a language of a province on the outer periphery of the Persian Empire. This was the region from which the Mughal dynasty had traced its ancestry. The word Urdu is supposed to the mean "Royal Camp". Apparently this is where Persian bureaucrats, Arabic scholars ,the Hindustani landlords , land record holders and accountants came together to giving rise to a new language.

In ancient India Tamil is the oldest living language of world. It is declared as an official language of the state of Tamil Nadu and has an official status in Sri Lanka .It is categorized as 17th amongst the top twenty world's most spoken languages with a historical belief of past two thousand years. This states that Indian language globally competent . All this makes us proud that we a part of this diverse country which is a amalgamation of so many cultures and tradition.
